Dublin Youth Choir

Dublin Youth Choir began in January 2017 with the launch of the Dublin Youth Chamber Choir. 24 singers aged between 14 and 18 were chosen to perform challenging choral music in this exciting new chamber choir for young singers. In September 2017, the main Youth Choir was established to work alongside the Chamber Choir. DYC rehearses in the Unitarian Church on St Stephen’s Green every Tuesday evening. Directed by Lynsey Callaghan, the singers receive expert tuition by experienced vocal tutors and highly-skilled musicianship staff. Performances and trips, both in Ireland and internationally, will establish this choir as one of Ireland’s leading youth choirs.

Dublin Youth Choir aims to fulfil the regional gap in choral music education in Dublin. The young singers will perform a wide repertoire, from medieval and renaissance music to compositions by living composers, placing a special emphasis on the performance of music of Irish composers.

The experience is not restricted to singers resident in Dublin; anyone willing to commute is welcome to audition. The auditions will be held in Dublin during the weekends in November. To receive an audition time, email dublinyouthchoir@gmail.com.
